Cancellation and refund
In case of cancellation
until 16 January 2012: 80 percent refund of the fees paid;
after 16 January 2012: no refund.
Written refund requests must be submitted to the Conference Secretariat before 16 January 2012.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Weather
The weather in February is usually cold in Hungary, temperature ranges between 0-5 Celsius. Snow may occur.

Dress
is informal at all occasions.

Visas
Entry visa is not required for the citizens of the European countries, Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan and USA. Citizens of other countries should apply for visa at a Hungarian diplomatic mission or consular post in the country of their permanent or habitual residence. Hungary is part of the Schengen area. Citizens of the EU member states, as well as those of Croatia and Switzerland may travel to Hungary with an identity card.

Currency, exchange, bank cards
The official currency is the Hungarian Forint. Exchange facilities are available at the airport, in hotels, at the exchange desk of the banks. ATMs are available throughout the country. American Express, Visa, Diners, MasterCard, JCB cards are mostly accepted in hotels, restaurants and city stores, but you should ask before ordering a service or purchasing goods.

Insurance
The Organizing Committee does not assume responsibility for injuries or losses occurring to persons or personal belongings during the conference. Participants are therefore advised to carry the proper travel and health insurance.

Electricity supply and phone
In Hungary electricity is supplied at 230 V, 50 Hz like in most European countries. The 2-pin connecting plug is different from that used in some other countries (e.g. USA, UK, Japan etc.). Phone and mobile service background is according to European standards.

Travel
By public transportation: Hungary lies at the crossroad of the main tourist traffic in Europe. More than 30 regular and low cost airlines operate flights to and from Budapest. From Budapest Debrecen is accessible by train or bus.

Transfer from Budapest to Debrecen
IC trains to Debrecen stop at „Ferihegy vasútállomás” station which is located at Liszt Ferenc Airport Terminal 1 (low cost airlines terminal). There are IC trains every hour from 06:43 until 19:43, the fare is appr. 15 EUR (4,990 HUF) 1st class or 14 EUR (4,070 HUF) 2nd class.
Train ticket can be bought (to and return) from the ticket office in Terminal 1.
„Ferihegy vasútállomás” station is accessible on foot via covered footbridge.
Destination station is „Debrecen”, which is the last station on this line and the main railway station in Debrecen.
The station is not far from the city centre (2.5 - 3 km).

Those arriving at Liszt Ferenc Airport Terminal 2 (KLM, Lufthansa, MALEV, etc.) have to transfer to Terminal 1 by local bus 200 EUR; tickets are available for HUF 320 (appr. 1.1 EUR) at the newspaper vendors at Terminal 2A, or HUF 400 (appr. 1.33 EUR) if purchased directly from the bus driver.

Itinerary for those arriving by railways
From Nyugati Railway Station to Debrecen there are IC trains every hour from 06:23 until 19:23, the fare is appr. 18 EUR (5,320 HUF) 1st class or 15 EUR (4,990 HUF) 2nd class.
Those arriving in Keleti Railway Station have to transfer to Nyugati by the underground (metro). Tickets can be bought for HUF 320 (appr. 1.1 EUR) at the ticket office in the station. The tickets are valid for the entire journey. Take metro M2 towards Deli palyaudvar, get off at Deak Ferenc ter (3rd stop), change to M3 towards Ujpest Kozpont, get off at Nyugati ter (2nd stop).

The official website of Hungarian railways www.mav-start.hu offers information about timetables in English and German. One can also buy tickets on-line with bank card on but unfortunately instructions are given in Hungarian only.

By car: Toll must be paid on motorways M1, M3, M5, M6 and M7. Annual, monthly, four- or ten-day vignettes are available.

- for Hotel Lycium guest: 2500 HUF/night, at reserved place for the Hotel at Kölcsey parking garage

On behalf of the conference K&M Congress Ltd. has reserved rooms in Debrecen in Hotel Lycium, the headquarters hotel of the meeting, and in Hotel Nagyerdő.

Reservation
You can make your reservation via the congress website or by returning the Registration Form to K&M Congress Ltd. before 16 January 2012. For each room reservation 1 night deposit and credit card guarantee are required. Full payment is required at the congress registration desk. Deposits are not refundable for any cancellation after 16 January 2012.
